Shoving range from the Nash equilibrium chart · tournament with antes · 9-handed table · folded to you
With antes — the standard in today's tournaments and what the Pokwise app shows for this spot. Without antes, straight from the Nash chart: 38%.
With 4 BB, UTG is first to act at a full 9-handed table — with seven players still to act behind you, the range has to be the tightest at the table. At this stack there's no real fold equity left: the big blind calls with almost anything, so the range is wide because you need to get called by worse hands — waiting for a big pair just throws away what little you have left.
The number comes from math, not style: the Nash chart finds the point where shoving stops being profitable against opponents who call correctly. Two sources of profit add up in a shove — picking up the blinds and antes when everyone folds, and getting to showdown with reasonable equity when someone calls. Antes put more chips in the middle, so the shoving range gets wider.
Playing 6-max? UTG only exists at full-ring tables (8–9 players). At a 6-max table the first seat to act is the equivalent of the LJ — use the LJ chart with 4 BB.
This is exactly where the money changes hands: everyone plays the obvious hands the same way — what sets a player who studies apart shows up at the edges of the range.
