Shoving range from the Nash equilibrium chart · tournament with antes · 9-handed table · folded to you
With antes — the standard in today's tournaments and what the Pokwise app shows for this spot. Without antes, straight from the Nash chart: 11%.
With 10 BB, UTG+1 acts right after UTG — the situation barely improves, so the range stays short and built around pairs and strong aces. At the top of this range, a straight shove starts sharing space with a min-raise in some strategies — but the shove is still the simplest, most error-proof line, especially against aggressive tables.
The number comes from math, not style: the Nash chart finds the point where shoving stops being profitable against opponents who call correctly. Two sources of profit add up in a shove — picking up the blinds and antes when everyone folds, and getting to showdown with reasonable equity when someone calls. Antes put more chips in the middle, so the shoving range gets wider.
Playing 6-max? UTG+1 only exists at full-ring tables (8–9 players). At a 6-max table the first seat to act is the equivalent of the LJ — use the LJ chart with 10 BB.
This is exactly where the money changes hands: everyone plays the obvious hands the same way — what sets a player who studies apart shows up at the edges of the range.
